Fit for Work Assessment

Workers and employers are advised of the findings and provided advice on developing the fitness needed, whether that be strength, aerobic capacity, balance or endurance. For instance, limitations in upper body strength needed for shoulder height lifting or limitations in fitness for climbing in/out of trucks.

Fit for Work Assessment establishes any gaps between a worker’s physical capabilities and the demands of their work.

In terms of process, a fit for work assessment is similar to a pre-employment functional assessment.
